CCRF was established as a private, not-for-profit regional research organisation in 1998 to provide a regional research program based on that provided by sister organisation, the Hunter Valley Research Foundation (HVRF). It is run by an independent, voluntary Board of Directors.

The CCRF strives to be the centre for excellence in community, regional and institutional research in the Central Coast. Our mission is to help the people and local governments of the Central Coast to make better decisions about their businesses and local community through the transfer of knowledge gained from the collection, analysis and interpretation of information.
