Aquation Pty Ltd designs, manufactures and sells innovative scientific instruments for the water quality and environmental monitoring industries. Available products include a range of in situ modulated chlorophyll fluorometers designed to measure plant stress: Aquation’s flagship Shutter Fluorometer has a unique self dark-acclimating shutter that enables the horticulturist or environmental manager to quickly distinguish normal everyday stress due to down-regulation of photosynthetic processes (as caused by bright sunlight) from longer-lasting damage potentially caused by stressors such as herbicides, water stress and inadequate nutrition. No other instrument of this kind provides this level of detail. With results sent wirelessly several times a day, the user can rapidly respond to suboptimal plant performance by improving environmental conditions and thereby maintaining high growth rates and minimal crop losses. Additional fluorometers include a simple shutter-less version for fluorescence measurements indoors, or a sealed version for measuring phytoplankton concentrations and physiological capacity.

 

Aquation’s water quality monitoring technology provides a fully telemetered platform that includes both our custom fluorometers and off-the-shelf water quality sensors. Features include wireless telemetry, low power consumption and a rugged submersible datalogger. Data is accessible in the form of SMS messages and a web based interface. Aquation provides a range of data services from simple text files of your data to a fully referenced report with recommendations.
